Event: Women Rock for Women's Rights
Local advocates are putting together a concert for Women's Rights on Sunday, August 11th at Resident Culture Brewing on Central Ave.
Local abortion rights advocates and Charlotte for Choice are hosting the Inaugural "Women Rock for Women's Rights" Festival on Sunday, August 11th from 1 PM to 6 PM at Resident Culture Brewing on Central Ave. in Plaza Midwood.
The event features “six amazing local female fronted acts to rock the stage for an incredible cause” and bills itself as a rallying cry for women's rights. The non-profit beneficiary of the concert is Charlotte for Choice, an organization dedicated to providing safe access to reproductive healthcare in North Carolina. Among other activities, Charlotte for Choice provides on-site clinic support with volunteer Clinic Escorts and Clinic Defenders.

Other highlights include a raffle with prizes, and 20 women-owned vendors including a food truck and the catering for the VIP tent.
Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite or at the door; sponsorship packages are also available. Event sponsors will have an opportunity to address the crowd, and include elected officials, candidates, and activists.
